Preschoolers love storybooks, and you can find some truly remarkable storybooks that relate to the Bible. Here are seven titles for starters.

Storybooks are a terrific way to teach your preschooler some of the Bible lessons that are most important for learning values and faith. Storybooks are a great learning tool because bright, colorful pictures and easy-to-read text make remembering lessons easier, as well as fun. Here are some of the best Bible storybooks for preschoolers, along with a short review of each.

Bible Storybooks for Preschoolers

There are many Bible storybooks available for young children; some really good and some not so good. It is important to find a Bible storybook or two that will impart your own family's values on your children, and offer solid Bible teaching. This is all in keeping with the Christian belief and faith.

  1. 95 Animals of the Bible by Nancy Johnson [Master Books, November 1997]. This is a terrific storybook that shows preschoolers which animals are mentioned in the Bible. Complete with terrific illustrations and easy topics, this book is a great tool for helping children learn about the Bible and animals at the same time.
  2. The Children’s Everyday Bible by Deborah Chancellor [Tyndale House Publishers, August 2002]. This book contains 365 easy to understand Bible stories; one for each day of the year. It contains bright, vivid illustrations and an easy to follow text. This is perfect for bedtime or story time, and will help put the Bible stories into context for both the parent and the child.
  3. A First Bible Story Book by Mary Downing [Dorling Kindersley Publishing, September 1998]. This book is specifically written for ages 3-6 and helps bring the Bible stories to the child in a easy to understand format. Excellent pictures for helping the child use their imagination.
  4. My Little Library of Bible Stories by School Specialty Publishing [May 2005]. This is an outstanding collection of 12 books with each 12 pages. These are chunky books that are perfect for little hands. These are durable books with brilliantly colored pages and come with a storage box as well. You can purchase the books or the books along with an accompanying audio CD.
  5. Bible Answers for Preschoolers by a compilation of authors [Barbor Publishing, March 2008]. This is a great storybook for preschooler children who have questions that an adult may not always have the answers for. The book provides easy answers to some of the more difficult questions that children ask. It makes a great reference to have on hand at all times.
  6. The Big Picture Story Bible by David Helm [Crossway Books, September 2004]. This book has only three lines per page to tell the story, along with terrific, colorful illustrations. It is designed to help preschoolers learn basic Bible principles. It is a good introductory book to the Bible.
  7. Everything a Child Should Know About God by Kenneth Taylor [Tyndale House Publishers, April 1996]. This brightly illustrated book teaches younger children about different aspects of God and Christian life. It addresses topics like sin and forgiveness in an easy to understand manner specifically designed for children 4-8.
